The front of the Coin shows the regimental emblem, a Xiphos sword with the number 18 in Roman numerals and three signal flashes representing the three supported regiments: SAS, SBS and SRR.
The rear of the coin shows the insignia of the 3 Special Forces units it supports and is made up from. The Special Air Service (SAS), The Special Boat Service (SBS) and the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR)
These coins are made from the original molds that made the coins that were sold and given away on the Special Air Services Camp in Hereford. Although not solely based at Hereford the coins were dispersed from here.
There are not loads of these around however they were given to visiting dignitaries and those attached arms that served with the regiment. Many members of the regiment also bought them and gave them to friends and family.
The coin comes in a presentation box.
CL managed to get the original manufacturer of these to make them again so that collectors and those with an interest in the regiment can purchase one.
